There are over 700 NCAA and NAIA programs, and most athletes know very little about only a tiny fraction of those schools. With so many available programs, it can be very difficult to know how to choose the right school. How The College Selector Works
To start the process, an athlete begins by answering a 5 minute survey. “We use our back-end algorithms to process the survey data and other information we have on the athlete and match it with the data on the football programs, to produce a custom list of the 10 best schools for each athlete. Understanding the questions and considering them carefully is crucial for the success of the process.” said Verified’s other co-founder Damir Makic.
The College Selector uses five major dimensions to make the best connections. First, the algorithm determines the “recruitability” of the athlete and finds the most likely of the ten possible segments of schools that would be interested in recruiting the athlete. Then, each school is evaluated on how much it fits the specific athlete from a financial, academic, campus, and football perspective. Each school is ranked on a total “fit score” where each category is weighed based on what is most important to the athlete.
